Call for Reviewers: BSLA Community Partnership– Supervising Facilitator RFQ

CALL FOR REVIEWERS

First 5 LA seeks qualified reviewers to evaluate applications from agencies and individuals interested in working with our staff as a Best Start Community Partnership Supervising Facilitator. The Consultant will direct a team of community facilitators who will work with community partnerships and assist them through a comprehensive planning process expected to run through December 2011 in 14 target communities in LA County.

Reviewers should have experience working in or supervising agencies that conduct community organizing, community engagement, and/or provide training to diverse community groups and multicultural audiences.

Interested reviewers should send a résumé with the attached application form highlighting relevant experience via e-mail to Monica Benitez-Andrade, First 5 LA Program Officer, at mbenitez@first5la.org. For further information, please call (213) 482-7836.Résumés and application must be received no later than July 9, 2010 at 5:00 p.m.

Reviewers will be paid $400 for reviewing up to five applications. If more than five applications are received by First 5 LA, reviewers will be paid $60 for each additional application they review.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Applicants should have experience with community work with expertise reaching out to diverse, multicultural audiences. Special consideration will be given to applicants with knowledge of the non-profit or government arena.
  • Applicants should have knowledge of social services, public education, community organizing, community engagement and partnership development. Special consideration will be given to applicants with knowledge of a wide range of outreach techniques.
  • Applicant is not in any way involved with, or plans to be involved with, any of the anticipated applicants.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Attend an information session (either in person or via conference call) where s/he will learn about First 5 LA, the RFQ and the review tools to be used in evaluating applicants (date to be determined).
  • Score approximately five to ten applications
  • Attend a final meeting with the other reviewers to make recommendations.
  • Sign a Conflict of Interest and Confidentiality Statement

Résumés and application must be received no later than July 9, 2010 at 5:00 pm.

Upon review of your application and résumé, you will be notified of your reviewer status by July 23, 2010.
